Mission Outreach

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19,20 (NASB)

Hornell First Baptist Church believes that scripture calls us to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. We do this by personal outreach and through mission giving which supports the work of missionaries in the United States and throughout the world.

At the local level, the church receives weekly offerings of non-perishable food items which are donated to the local Food Pantry at the Salvation Army.

Members of the church also participate each year in the community Walk for Hunger which raises funds to alleviate hunger throughout the world and in our own community.

Hornell First Baptist Church supports many ministries through the church's benevolence fund, including:

American Baptist Churches USA, Eastern University (St. David's PA), Upstate Home for Children and Adults (Oneonta NY), Fairport Baptist Homes (Fairport NY), American Baptist Churches of NYS, BCM International (Rushville NY), Chemung-Steuben Baptist Association, Genesee Valley Habitat for Humanity (Wellsville NY), Faith in Action (Hornell NY), Salvation Army (Hornell NY), Steuben Rural Ministry (Canisteo NY), Hornell Concern for Youth (Hornell NY), Kid's Cafe/Shalom Zone (Hornell NY), The Net Shelter (Bath NY), Moms/PCAP (Hornell NY), St. James Health Indigent Fund (Hornell NY), Mercy Flight Central (Syracuse NY), Family Life Ministries (Bath NY), Loving Arms Pregnancy Center (Bath NY), Camp LeTourneau (Canandaigua NY), ProAction Home Delivered Meals (Bath NY), Special interest missionaries.

In addition, the church receives and supports the work of four special offerings of the American Baptist Churches USA: America for Christ Offering, One Great Hour of Sharing Offering, World Mission Offering, and the Retired Ministers & Missionaries Offering (RMMO).

The church also receives the annual Blanket Offering and Tools of Hope Offering.
